Sr. Software Engineer – UI Development

Job Summary
Tropos is a dynamic, fast-paced startup company looking for a creative UI developer to design and implement a world-class user interface for a sophisticated Network Management System. Tropos designs and develops industry leading large-scale wireless mesh networking equipment used in a wide range of applications including SmartGrid energy efficiency and AMI, public safety, ITS, and municipal wireless.

Job Description
Tropos Networks is looking for a senior UI developer to join our talented and innovative team developing industry leading metro-scale wireless networking products. Our Network Management System is capable of managing large scale deployments. The system supports full FCAPS capabilities with advanced management and in depth network analysis statistics.

• Define, architect, and implement creative and scalable web-based UI for our products.
• Investigate creative solutions and innovate using latest web technologies
• Help drive effective processes, design and coding standards

Job Requirements

• Demonstrated achievements in web user interface design preferably for a Network Management product.
• BS/MS in CS/EE , 5+ years experience with GUI design and NMS systems
• Proficiency in Java, DHTML, JavaScript., AJAX, XML, XSLT, JSP, and Perl
• Working knowledge of LAMP technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl)  
• Solid understanding of web UI design principles, workflows design, and usability
• Previous experience with large, highly scalable, networking products
• Familiarity with modern agile development methodologies and practices.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• A high degree of self-motivation and flexibility.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
