Director, Public Relations

Responsible for driving creation of Tropos’ outbound communications with press and analysts, ensuring consistency with company’s strategic direction and messages.  This position requires an individual that is a self-starter, energetic and has the ability to create fresh ideas to drive awareness and education about Tropos and our solutions. 

Responsibilities

• Driving public relations strategies and tactics which includes:
• Writing of formal communications such as press releases and social media (blog, twitter)
• Taking the lead on building and maintaining relationships with press, analysts, and other industry influencers
• Developing response to blog/articles, as appropriate
• Creation of pitches to proactively take out to media
• Monitoring and follow-up on editorial opportunities
• Developing timely corporate public response to industry or competitive press/blogs, as appropriate, to ensure all Tropos employees deliver the same message
• Participate in building corporate, marketing, and product messaging
• Responsible for identifying opportunities for; writing and submitting abstracts; and following up on prospective speaking engagements

Requirements

• Strong communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats
• Ability to understand smart grid/smart city customer requirements and build value propositions related to Tropos solutions
• Experience in use of social media create awareness and generate buzz
• Organized and focused on meeting schedules and commitments
• Ability to work well individually or as part of team

Education/Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree
• Minimum 8 years of experience leading public relations for public or private data networking product companies
• International public relations experience desirable but not required
• Experienced in use of Microsoft Office Suite, BusinessWire, Twitter, Blogging
