Senior RF Engineer

- Project Lead for all HW and RF aspects of 802.x radios
- Design analog, digital, and RF (to 6 GHz) circuitry
- Technical interface to critical component and subsystem manufacturers.
- Responsible for regulatory and safety compliance for Tropos Networks products, including FCC; ETSI/IEC; VCCI/TELEC; SAR/MPE; UL60950, TUV, CE, etc. Design and maintain products for compliance with these requirements, lead certification efforts, and debug problems as required.
- Develop and maintain procedures and processes for environmental & reliability testing; including HALT, HASS, MTBF calcs. RoHS, and WEEE.
- Coordinate with product management and other corporate resources to define functionality and technical specifications for new Tropos products and systems. Work with team members to identify best solutions to address market requirements. Assist in competitive analysis and market awareness.
- Develop, maintain, and execute standard Engineering performance (design verification)
- Produce appropriate documentation including Product/System Requirement Specifications, detailed design specifications, product operation and installation guides, etc.
- Maintain product development schedules.
- Coordinate with other corporate team members to address DFM, DFT, DFS requirements. Deliver products to manufacturing with complete and accurate documentation and provide ongoing support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
- 6 years minimum experience in RF circuit, chain and system design
- Proven expertise in design of 802.x products; experience in design for complex, multipath RF environments
- RF circuit design and optimization including RX sensitivity, harmonics, cavity effects, crosstalk, spectral efficiency, and optimized SNR.
- Antenna design, selection, and testing methodologies
- System design and implementation methodologies to optimize price/performance
- Product and manufacturing test development including all aspects of process control (process capability ratios, repeatability, accuracy, precision, statistical analysis, etc)
- Technical interaction and professional relationships with component and subsystem manufacturers, including Atheros.
- Experience with Contract Manufacturers, ODMs etc to ensure transfer of design to volume production, including product and process documentation.
- Skilled in the use of circuit design software, PDM software, automated test platforms
- Laboratory and production test tools and systems including Vector Signal and Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.
- Full lifecycle experience taking RF products from design requirements through release to manufacturing, including circuit design, component and material selection, layout, prototype, EMC and Safety compliance andcertification, documentation, product verification, test development, and release to manufacturing
- Technical team management
